ABOUT
Your time, energy, heart and brain space are precious and must be protected.
You may need guidance and a variety of tools to get there. We understand. Which is exactly why we believe in serving the unique needs of business owners, entrepreneurs and non-profits. Focusing on what matters to you and the life you want, will take some internal work - I’ve been there.
Hey, I’m still there. Listening truly and deeply will lead to the best answers. I quit my career path (twice!) before discovering and embracing my own special path. The beauty is, nothing is permanent and I’m delighted to be part of your ever-changing path. One promise, there is no overnight magic! Breathe. Patience, my darling. I’ll be right here with you.
The Blue Anchor Values
-
Listen with Compassion
We all need support, encouragement, and a confidant. I will actively listen to you with my ears (of course!) and also my heart. Your current circumstances and future dreams are important.
-

Create Calm
I believe in looking ahead and simplifying whenever and wherever possible. When our work + lives are less hectic, we can make a greater impact within our communities.
-

Embrace Wonder
The time is now! There will always be an “I’ll do that later.” When we allow ourselves to explore, imagine, discover, and create it opens our future possibilities. I love to look up at the sky and simply wonder. This is where some of the best ideas are formed.
-

Love Life, Work, + Play
Your time on Earth is precious and I will encourage you to live. This is one of the simplest, yet hardest things for my clients to “accomplish.” I will give you positive nudges to soak up and celebrate life’s moments.
-

Celebrate Freedom
You have choices, always. I will ask thoughtful questions, help you explore options, and provide insight. But honestly: I rarely tell you what to do. It’s your business and my role is to navigate with you, not for you.
-

Ignite Community
There is power + delight in together-ness. I enjoy supporting and uplifting women through Kick Ass Lady Club.
Our mission: We bring fabulous women together and create the best conversations + laughter in the universe. Join the fun!

In the Neighborhood
As the owner of Blue Anchor, I believe in purposefully giving back to my community + our world.
Sharing time:
I volunteer for Leaders Who Lunch, a mentoring program that pairs young students with Cedar Rapids-area professional women for a conversation about goals, dreams, and teamwork.
Sharing talent:
I serve on the Mount Mercy University Alumni Board, my alma mater. We support strategic initiatives, assist with programming, student recruitment and support, fundraising, and community outreach efforts.
I serve on the Power Panel Committee for You Conferences, an annual conference for women. Their mission is, “To connect driven women in Eastern Iowa with the community, resources, and support needed to focus on achieving success.”
Sharing treasure:
Blue Anchor is a proud donor to The Adventure Project, a non-profit organization with a mission to, “Create jobs to empower communities to work their own way out of extreme poverty, for good” The jobs they create focus on four issues that affect people in extreme poverty: climate, health, hunger, and water. In Real Life
I like to do cartwheels in the grass, dance on the sidewalk, eat chocolate, travel to new places (and old favorites), and read a book until I fall asleep and it flops forward and clunks me on the head.
I live in Iowa and love to make memories with my husband and three kids.
You will find me out in nature (I walk in all seasons: blazing sun, swirling snow, sideways rain, and falling leaves), twirling on the sidewalk, and spending time in the sunshine whenever possible.
You won’t find me on social media; it’s never been my jam. Although, I do utilize LinkedIn, if you’re interested in connecting digitally.
If I’m away from work on a Friday, I’m likely out-and-about on a solo “artist date.” Credit: Julia Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way
New hobbies include: roller skating and painting. Not-right-now-but-maybe-someday hobbies are: cooking new recipes and gardening.
